NBA training camps opened either at the end of September or the beginning of October. The regular season started yesterday.

Just think the NBA title for the 2012-2013 season will be decided in 8 months (next June).

The NBA season is way too long in my humble opinion.

BTW the Lakers looked very uninterested yesterday in the game against the Mavericks.

Unless the Lakers (by player choice [Kobe are you listening?????????????] or by coach edict) choose to give the ball to Steve Nash so that he has complete control over running the offense and distributing the ball to the other players on the floor [Kobe are you listening???????????] then Steve Nash will be worthless as a player on the floor. Unless he has control of the ball on offense and as a point guard distributes the ball he will should not be on the floor. He is too small, too old and too unathletic to perform on the floor in any productive manner without controlling and distributing the ball. If Nash can control the ball, distribute the ball, initiate the offense and run the offense through him I bet that Kobe's shooting percentage will skyrocket. If not expect a repeat of prior years with Kobe many times having the ball, going one on three and launching a 30' fade way jumper with a defender in his face as the shot clock runs out.

How much do you want to bet that Mike Brown will not be coaching the Lakers for long this year and that the Lakers management puts the full court press on Phil Jackson to come back and coach the team again.

Yes!!! My favorite time of year!!

I take great pride in the fact that I've been saying the Lakers are overrated all summer long. As crazy as it seems, I think they'd actually play better without Kobe on the court. If Nash could use Howard in the pick and roll like he used to do with Stoudemire, that would be pretty fierce. But with ballhog Kobe out there, having to have everything run through him, that won't happen.

Maybe they could have Kobe/Gasol play with one unit, and Nash/Howard play with another.
