I thought I should pass it along that the owner of the green bean company is doing well physically.

Hope Laura is A-OK 2. She lives almost right on the shore.

LSS posted on her website today: "ALL OF US ARE OK."

    Anyone here from NJCC?

Good to hear, and best wishes to all the non-high-profile people in the area as well.

My prayers go out to all those effected by the storm. Being an ex-Jerseyite, I feel their pain. I was saddened to see the boardwalk at Seaside being washed away. So many memories...

I'm sure they'll have it rebuilt in time for the summer beach season. Glad to hear everyone is doing fairly well under the circumstances.

Funtown, Casino Pier, everything gone. Will they even be able to rebuild it the way it was? There was a place, had corn on the cob simmering all day, oysters, Several stools right on the boardwalk. The corn was unbelievable ( but then again Jersey corn's the best )

Laura just emailed me to say that everything was okay, that she appreciates everyone's thoughts, and that despite the challenges, Legend would be up and running tomorrow.

    Direct from Laura--

"I have NO power at home or the office. Cell phones don't work well. Where I live (Monmouth Beach NJ) took a horrible direct hit. We had a 13 ft surge that slammed boats from a 1/2 mile away into our building. The new oceanfront is 1/2 mile in. ALL the beach clubs-GONE. All the houses in town severely damaged if they are still standing. Somehow a boat dock made it to the center of town-1 mile from the water. There are poles and trees all over. They closed my town to residents only."

Best of luck to Laura, Legend, our forum and coin friends in the area, and all of the folks in the Northeast who were affected by the storm.

    Thanks for asking.

I moved to central NJ long ago. I lost power from Monday 6:30pm to Tuesday 10:00am. I relative terms, I fared ok. The main drawback is that my Mom is with me now, and I can't even escape to the office because the mayor of Jersey City had a travel restriction that got lifted tonight.

As for the EV, I know they're still out of power because of that transformer explosion downtown. My friends in PCV/ST have relocated to friends' places.
