A potentially disturbing 'pattern'?

Three days ago I spotted this half dime on eBay, described by the seller as a J-817 1870 Pattern half dime, which is a very rare copper pattern. However, the pictures provided by the seller show what appears to be a silver business strike issue for the year 1870, a common coin worth 1/100th the value of the R6 pattern. The J-817 (Pollock 906) exhibits a dramatically different obverse, with the figure of Miss Liberty seated, but facing to the left. I emailed the seller, asking him to relate why he thought his coin was a pattern. He responded with the following:
"it is im in he process of removing the item"
At the time I inquired (October 26), there were just three bids on the item, the highest being just two dollars and change. However, the item has not been removed, the seller shows no signs of correcting the description or removing the item, and the bids are now up to $45, certainly all that the pictured coin is worth. I hope that no one on this forum believes this coin to be a rare pattern, and that no one will bid the coin higher than it is presently. Just a heads up.

They that can give up essential Liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither Liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin

I just hope that no one is seriously misled by this item description before the auction closes.
Listing should have been removed.

Ebay won't let you change many "item specifics" once there are bids. The auction would have to be canceled first in order to correct those.
