T206 Opinions Sought - Cobb Green

Fellas,

Been looking to add this card to the collection for a while; have no T-206s and so it's a glaring absence. Anyways here is a PSA 4 (the grade I want) and was wondering if any resident experts on this card could weigh in with opinions on it, and what would be a good price for it. There seems to be a small lighter patch/dot on his chin, which I keep seeing on these. Is it a problem/can examples be found without it? Is this one solid for the grade, etc...

Thanks as always.

  • Hi, this is a nice card but it looks like it could have been just as easily graded a 3 or a 3.5. I don't know about the white dot, but you often see the green Cobb's OC top to bottom. This one looks good.

    Good luck! Rick

Looks like a crease at low left. I own a Cobb green PSA 4 myself, so I kind of keep track of what they sell for. SMR is $2,800 for a 4, and nice ones usually go in that range, at least they did the last time I saw one sell. I'm not sure this one is that nice due to what appears to be a crease. If it is a crease, it shouldn't have been a 4 IMO.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

It's centered nice, but I would look for a better 4 or try to buy it at a 3 price. Good luck!

Nice card, but I would wait for a little better one...

If it is a crease in the lower left then there are definitely nicer 4's out there....very nice looking 3 however
