Anyone have a Tuff Stuff or Beckett guide lying around?

I am going to be donating over 50,000 cards (80's) to Collectibles for Causes. Just trying to get a very rough estimate of fair market value.

Obviously, about 95% are commons but I do have about 2000 cards of Hall of Famers along with Rose, Bonds, Clemens and other greats who may never enter the Hall.

Just looking for a book price on commons - is it still about 3 cents/each?

And what about a few other cards like '82 Ryan, '83 Henderson, '81 Schmidt, '80 Brett, '85 Mattingly, '82 Seaver, '84 Carew?

This would give me at least some ballpark figures on what to use.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, Tom

  • These prices are from the April Beckett. I don't think these prices have changed in years. You weren't exactly to specific about what brand so I'm going to go with the Topps prices. Here you go...

    82 Ryan - 6
    83 Henderson - 2.50
    81 Schmidt - 2
    80 Brett - 8
    85 Mattingly - 2.50
    82 Seaver - 1.25 (Unlisted Star)
    84 Carew - .60 (Unlisted Star)

I would keep in mind, that most cards of stars sold raw are selling for about 25% book if you were looking for FMV on them.

If you are looking for the approx amount for a tax deduction for donating them, then I would use whatever you think is fair
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY
  • Wonder if the IRS would give you a problem if you declared value at $1.00 per??? Lol
