Sold: 1808 Bust Half, 1809 Half Cent, lot of 15 Large Cents. Low grade/impaired.

Good evening, everyone:

On behalf of a friend and neighbor here in northwest Connecticut, I am posting three lots from their small accumulation. These coins have been in the owner’s possession for many years, but neither he nor his spouse are collectors. Descriptions and links to photos are below. Terms are at the very end of the post.

(1) 1808 Bust Half dollar. Portions of the obverse has been rubbed by what I suspect was a pencil eraser. Low VF details by the ANA Grading Standards. Asking $35.00 plus 3.00 P&I.

(2) 1809 half cent with obverse scratches. VG details by the ANA Grading Standards guide. Asking $17.00 + 3.00 P&I.

(3) 15 U.S. large cents. Mostly impaired and quite worn as well. If you care to look, you will find that the three best pieces are relatively unimpaired: an 1822, an 1816, and a dateless Liberty Cap cent (1796 likely) . The rest … well … they would make nice conversation pieces or gifts to youngsters except for the 1825 (If you look at the reverse, you’ll see what I mean.) Asking $25.00 plus 4.00 P&I.
