A Toned Coin Collector's Holy Grail ... "Elevation Chromatics" (Flow of Color)

It's always hard to pick just one thing you love about toning in a series; but for me, it has to be when you see this sort of "flow of color" into the recesses of a coin design. I am not 100% sure why this effect happens. I bet someone on this board might know the physics of this. It almost looks as if the color melted and flowed into the low spots, like molten rock or some sort of colorful fluorescent liquid flowing like a river through the valleys. This is just beyond beautiful. I am not sure if this type of toning happens in other series, it probably does, but I seem to see it most of the time in the Morgan Silver Dollar series.
Example #1: Pink molten lava flows around cool green mountains ... (PCGS MS63 OGH)

Example #2: Cool turquoise blue water laps against the brown, gold, and green hillsides ... (PCGS MS64)

((Just wanted to give kudos to Robec for the stunning photo work!))

<< <i>I'd love the first Morgan as a screen saver. Any chance you could remove the arrows and post it again? >>
I removed the arrows for you.
You can download that OP image here (sans arrows) ...

Here is a bigger version you can edit (using any graphics package) to fit your screensize exactly ... Otherwise you might have aspect ratio distortion.

(Just an FYI that this is a through-the-slab photo done by Robec -- so at this high resolution you can see a few light slab scratches, however they are very subtle. Stunning photo work!)

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

This effect is referred to as "elevation chromatics".
The cause? I suspect it has to do with the subtle variations in the proximity to the toning agent, but I am no expert on such things.
"Elevation Chromatics" ... I like that
I edited the OP and the THREAD TITLE to use that term.
I googled it and found only 1 page on the web that mentioned it
It was a page written by Brandon Kelley (who also coined this term)

+1. I think that Morgan is stuck back in time, around 1969 in CA!

Linked below is a beautiful colorfully toned Morgan Dollar (graded 2 grades higher than the OP coin) ...
This one is graded MS65 and mine was graded only MS63. Also this one is several hundred $$ cheaper than what I paid.
This has GREAT fluorescent elevation chromatics ... and I bet is even nicer looking than the sellers photos
Looks like a bargain at $599 to me ...
