problem with a 1986 fleer jordan (rc), need help!!! also how to get wax off the back of1986 fleer ba

hey, i am selling my brothers cards and just started looking at them yesterday. he has the 1986,87,88 fleer bk sets w/ stickers and many other cards over 100k cards. but the 1986 fleer jordan he bought in 1990 and put it in one of the huge 1 inch thick screw down holders and , i just unscrewed it yesterday after 22 years being in there. it was almost stuck to the holder, once i got it loose, the card's corners are all very shiny, just the corners??? i guess that is where the half a brick size holder pushed down the hardest on the card?? is there a way to get this shiny ? off of the card's corners??, if not and i send it to psa, will it get a # grade, or just authentic??? i am sending 60 cards total from the 1986 fleer set and 1987 fleer set, and cards out of the sticker set. ALSO HOW DO I GET THE WAX OFF THE BACK OF THE 1986 FLEER BASKETBALL STICKERS??? I HEED HELP W/ THAT, I THOUGHT IT WAS A PANTYHOSE YOU WERE SUPPOSSED TO USE??? PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THIS , IT WILL HELP OUT A BUNCH, THANKS GUYS, SCOTTY

    Not sure about the shiny corners. If it is real, it will get a grade and not just authentic. I would say that it would knock it down a couple of grades. That would be my guess.

    Pantyhose should get the wax off of the sticker. I have done this thousands of times on cards with wax. Just rub it until it comes off.

    Thanks for the help. I dont know what it is? I have never had a card in a case like that before and for that long?? Whatever the the inch thick screw down holder was made of, caused it, b/c when he bought the sets of the first 3 years, the Jordan was real nice, so he thought that big holder would keep it safe, hell you could throw it across the room and the card is fine,maybe not your wall?? Kind of a different situation, thanks again, scotty

    yeah, i am joey and i love comics, and i i am always on the comic forum and you broke my heart ,brenda, b/c you know how much i collect the new spawn issue #1, the one with the cyclards, it was the 1st appearance of them,and remember ,brenda when me and you bought the superman dies comic book together and read it at least 5 times that day, wow brenda, it seems like yesterday,wow!!! brenda, please take your lillte funny pages , or comics and play nice, girl you have a good night, i would, but what is joey going to do without not getting on the comic book forum, girl that hurts brenda, why you do that to god ole joey, you know how mean that is brendy, that is joey's little pet name for you brenda, only you, have a good night brenda and dont rip a page in your comics, or get anything gooey on them!!!!bye brenda, have a peaceful day,sister!!!!

    Many of the screw down holders from the 80's and 90's contained PVC in them. The chemicals can often react and discolor the card over long periods of time. You might want to lightly try rubbing the shiny part with the pantyhose. I am afraid to say if that doesn't work you might be SOL. Eitherway, I would definitely get it graded with a PSA # grade.

    thanks alot for the info!! i will try it, very steady, b/c he bought the 3 sets 1n 1989 i think it was now not 1990 b/c he only got the 1st 3 sets and 1989-90 was staring to come out. i will let you know if that works,with the pantyhose, is that the only thing you would try is pantyhose on the corners. the y just got so shiny and it sucks b/c he want s me to sell all this cards . he has not even looked at then in 15 years, and the jordan is in great shape psa 8 w/o the "shine" added from the 2 pound screw down block it was in, it was huge!! thanks , if you think of anything else let me know. i am sending in 45 total cards cards from the 1986/87 set including at least half of the dtickers, after i get the wax off the back, fir the wax removal just dry pantyhose also right? thanks, scotty Have a good night

    To be honest, I have no idea who Joey is/was. I was just trying to be helpful and answer a board members question.
