Got in three nice purchases this week -
1) A 1971 Topps Set that I took a chance on via ebay. Loved seeing sequential serial numbers of the 3 PSA graded cards included (PSA 8 Baker/Baylor, PSA 8 (st) Clemente - light wax on front, and a PSA 6 Aaron, and hoped for similar condition within. Series 1 through 4 were low to mid-grade, it picked up markedly for the last two series.
2) A nice 1973 Topps Set - I'll go through it better tomorrow and scan by tomorrow night.
3) Two lots of 1976 Topps from Gaspipe (Bob) - thanks!
Anyway, bear with me on the heavy scans - I am going to send a sub in from these, and the scans here are a big help to me in seeing things...

Nice purchase.
Nice stuff!
Also, do you think the Clemente is a "slider" 8? It is not as sharp as Baylor/Baker and am pondering cracking it an de-waxing....
The 73's weren't as sharp as I had hoped, but still a few stars worth grading.....

You picked up some really super cards!
I have some favorites - the centering on those Sox team cards? Incredible!
Thanx.
At under $900 for the 1971 set you can't go wrong, even with a 7 on the Clemente. You'll certainly do much better with a 7 NQ than with an 8 ST. I would definitely go for it. I've got my fingers crossed for when you crack out that Schmidt. I've heard horror stories about the screw down holders. Hopefully it hasn't been clamped in there for a decade or more.
