I assume Stacks/Bowers will post the online Federal-US coins for Baltimore, but when?

Same here - all I get is Rarities Night . >>

OK, click on Rarities Night. See all the other Sessions running down the left side of your page? Click on any of the sessions that interests you, for example: "Session 7, Early American coin lots" . You will get a pretty much empty page with a brief description of the session, including the lot numbers. Now plug the first lot number into the Search box. Voila! You will now have the first coin's description. Keep hitting "Next" to see more.

Results will vary depending on how far along they are in preparing the lots. Some have detailed descriptions, some have photos, some just have a one line description. But it can give you an idea of what's in the session and what you might want to come back and check later when everything is ready. >>

    that's much user-friendlier than Heritage's auction previews...

    not.

Nonetheless, thanks for sharing your technique. image

Thanks for the heads-up - it does work. It's rather tedious but it's certainly better than nothing.

I just checked every category of coins that I collect. Took less than ten minutes. Nothing for me.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

<< <i>Even though I spent more with them this year than Heritage, they made it clear to me via email that I'm not a good enough customer to receive a complimentary print catalog in the mail anymore. On the other hand, Heritage made me a legacy member.

No catalog online now? No response to your email? Not sure what all of this means, but it's making it very clear who I will consign with in the future. >>

Since I was no longer actively buying, I asked both SB and Hertitage to stop sending me catalogs. They were just ending up at the local coin shows as freebies.
The last stack I moved out in March weighed around 120 lbs.

For all of the bytching and moaning they got their November sale up before Heritage. As far as not consinging to them, take a look at their auction photos and then think how you would feel if you were the consigner of this coin to Heritage--and this very typical of Heritage photos of IHC proofs.

  • You gotta point there. I have always felt that Heritage has struggled with their imaging.
