Grade opinion for Canadian 5c silver.....

I'm thinking VF30, possibly ef40.

It's a slightly rare date/variety, so I'm curious what you think.

    The obv shows enough meat for EF.

    Not sure what is going on with the color/surfaces though. From the pic maybe a dip gone bad/improperly rinsed? You have it in hand so you'll have a better idea on that than the rest of us.

    Yes, probably and old time dip with a very bad rinse and since has re-toned.

    It's an 1885 5c, variety small 5 over 5.

    pictures are NOT sharp enough for an evaluation
    and WHY not show the other side?
    Canadian graders , as far as I know, use the lowest side as their base grade.
