Question about the Canada 1858 20 Cent issue

I bought a 1858 Canada 20 cent piece and was wondering if there were varieties for the series. This one coin seems to be overstruck, but I can't seem to find any good info on it any ideas?

I am 99.9999% sure that you are seeing die clash marks.

There are some varieties noted in Charlton: yours is a RE 5 - no premium noted

There are 3 different varieties for blundered I's that carry a 25% premium. Yours looks normal.

I strongly believe that specifically this coin, and the 5 and 10 cent 1858 (except the cent) are in a deep winter sleep and are showing signs of slowly waking up...
just my opinion. I am always looking for EF and better.

I believe this coin is the RE 5 as shown on pge 44 of the 66th Edition, 2012 Charlton.

I also agree with YQQ that the 1858 silvers need more study like Rob Turner did with the 1858 cent. Might be a case of the cost to acquire a sufficient sample to study is prohibitive.

BTW: nice coin, VF30 with shot at EF40 IMHO
