Lincoln proof formative years on Sac blank?

I was at the US min in Philly on Friday buying a couple things and taking the self guided tour. When I said I didn't need to examine the proof set I was buying the sale lady said that someone did examine a proof set the year they made all those Lincoln cents and one was golden. Not sure how this doesn't get noticed in packaging or even if the gold dollar blank would be cut down to 1 cent size during striking. Unfortunately she had to keep it and then people from the sf mint etc were over there trying to figure out what happened. She said the customer was really upset not being able to buy it. I was wondering if anyone else has heard this story before? I don't check the forums daily, but I found it interesting and thought I'd share in case it is new info the anyone.
