Will giving a 1965-1967 "SMS" Cameo (or Deep-Cameo) Kennedy Half a quick dip in pure aceto

Hi guys!

Will giving a 1965-1967 "SMS" Cameo (or Deep-Cameo) Kennedy Half a quick dip in pure acetone damage the cameo effect?

The reason I am contemplating this is because there is a tiny bit of "discoloration" (perhaps 2-3 mm round in size) on the coin's reverse that is holding this coin back from grading MS-67 or MS-68, and I am hoping the acetone will release the bit of material.

Pics would be helpful, but acetone will have no effect on the frost on the devices and may actually clean up the mirrors a bit.

Russ used to dip all the SMS coins he submitted in acetone in order to make sure the the haze from the set did not appear back on the coin after grading.

It won't change the cameo.
It may not change the spot either, it depends what it is.
