I am really curious about these, are they hand cut, perforated, or "normal" cards?

Normal cards that are meant to be stuck into an album. The stock is thinner than a normal card but they don't appear to be handcut.

I actually just picked 2 of these up and from everything I have read and my contact over in Europe, they are from 1983 and definitely predate his Panini card. So this is his true rookie. I found my copies on a french bidding site but I probably just jinxed them and they won't be showing up now haha.

I think it mentions 1985 in the carl lewis bio in the album. I figured 85 or 86. There is an Ali card in this set which someone who was working on an Ali checklist dated it as 1985. I haven't been able to confirm the date so haven't even bothered to see if psa will grade them. Any additional information you get on these would be great.

Do you have a checklist or any link with info on the set. Idle like to get these graded by psa but I haven't been able to pin point the year. I used to have the complete album but it didn't have a year on.

Just heard back from psa and they will start slabbing these and date them as 1985. They have graded the pele from this set as 1975-1985. I like a single year much better than a 10 year range. The Ali a a good looking card too that could be added to the player registry if it already isn't.

Congrats on your work, 1985 makes the most sense for this issue so great job of PSA for making this move.

I'm assuming it's after the 1984 Olympics because that's when Carl really got world wide recognition (we boycotted the '80 Olympics).

edited: DOH! I should have read the entire thread first and noticed the dates. Otherwise, sweet find!
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
