Retro Coin Holders?

I have mixed feelings about Retro Coin Holders. So I want to know what the majority of you guys think before I make my decision.

Do you guys (the experts) feel a retro holder adds or takes away value from a coin?

I don't like gimmicky holders and I do like a certain degree of uniformity, so I wouldn't pay a premium and might offer only a discount to make up for the coin having to be reholdered.
