Do You Have a Coin Collection at the Office?

CoinosaurusCoinosaurus Posts: 9,643 ✭✭✭✭✭
I pull stuff out of change and throw it in a drawer. I have 4 wheat cents (one from 1938), 5 Canadian cents, 1 Canadian nickel, and one silver quarter (1964).

My favorite nurse, Linda, gave me a replica of an AGE for Christmas one year. I keep it on my desk as I would not want the coins I have at home to know about it.

I had a little ceramic dish that had the odd wheaty or buff that I found in change.

I'm retired now but when I was working I had a box with about three dozen inexpensive coins in flips that I picked-up here and there in my desk. Nothing expensive but something to play with when I wasn't busy which wasn't too often.

No kidding! I had to schlep it from the second page. image
  • Had this in my office for a few years, it has changed with time, but not too much. Most recent update was the 5 kopek and Galerius Maximinus. I hand out V and buff nickels all the time.

For a while I kept my entire collection locked up in my office at work. Long story but I was temporarily living in a very bad neighborhood and didn't feel comfortable leaving anything of value behind.

I have a few world coins that people have given me (Bermuda nickel, Bahamas quarter, etc.) but that's it.

I only deal with money in my office, not coins. image

    I can top that.

A client once gave me a replica of a SAE as a present one year. He bought a bunch of them because he remembered how I told him that he could buy small gift items and write it off for his business.

The crazy thing is I had never heard of a SAE replica before I received it.

I have to show it in the office just to reassure my client that I am stiil appreciative of his gift. image
