I tried searching for an image but can't find one. I know some years are more pronounced than others
but this one looks like one.......Does someone have a pic to compare?
btw....looked at all the sites and couldn't find any images.
Just got the grade today, it crossed from NGC
There was only one listed in PCGS as a 1952 BB MS63
Mine crossed at MS66

Very nice.....I don't think there are many around. Certainly PCGS does not have any listed and franklinlover site has 0 for population!

A different 52 bugs, a PCGS MS65FBL 1952 bugs that sold on Teletrade a few years ago, had a very minor clash. I remember seeing it in hand and being unimpressed.
Coinsarefun's coin doesn't seem to resemble either of those two I have seen. I have seen late die state 1954 Bugs with a clash similar to CAF's. PCGS generally does not designate those as bugs now, but a few of those LDS 54's did get designated early on when PCGS first started doing bugs bunny designations.
CAF, do you ever submit raw to TT? That is a most economical way to submit for PCGS variety service... like $17/coin. One of the best bargains in numismatics!

there are some very great and obvious benefits to doing that with the auction firms that offer that service and is a great option for some coins and not so for others.
it boils down to a matter of preference vs the benefits/risks/costs. some of us don't mind the extra work as we like having a bit more control over how things happen.
having said all that, submitting raw to one of the auction firms is something i will probably be doing more in the future to relieve inventory and reduce workload.
whatever you do stef, don't forget to update us on your cool frankie!

<< <i>There will be a 1952 bugs coming to Teletrade in 6 weeks or so. It has a very bold clash and actually looks quite similar to a 1955 bugs. That one is a "naked eye" variety to a younger person (like Stephanie!) with good eyesight.

No I never did as I want to hold on to my coin and didn't want to sell it. It will take a place in my Type Set
Thanks for the information I appreciate it.
btw, this is the coin in question, if you look it up in TT sale. I think it sold last year and blow up the images it appears to be an early die state.
But....that's only my opinion.,

well done stef. i really do suck at using TT auction archives, MUCH to my dismay. it is probably quite simple to use and just one of those things that escapes me, for now. but my main point being, gj on finding that frank buried from some time ago.

that is impressive. i cannot see the clashing on that coin as the magnification isn't sufficient, even on the TT listing. Is there a secret to attributing these other than the clashing at the lips?

I think according to the book or online reference they mention obverse hub doubling.

ya i remember reading something about the hub doubling going with some/all of the lip/wing clashing coincidentally. i'll be more specific, unless you guys have a secret(s) that aren't to be shared with me at this time, which is fine. If that isn't the case, can you say specifically how you guys knew this particular TT frankie is a bugs bunny clashed? The description mentions nothing of it from what I saw and the images are insufficient for attributing by clash alone imo.
Your assistance/information is appreciated.
