selling question

Hello,

Like most people here, I sell the PSA graded cards I am willing to part with on ebay, but I'd like to consider additional areas as well (electronic only, not setting up at shows). Not looking to replace ebay, just add on to it like some do. What are the recommended other sites to use as well? I don't have the inventory volume to warrant a seller account on Beckett's website. There seem to be a lot of options that come up on a google search, but most if not all seem to have such a low volume of traffic and listings that they don't look worth the time.

Thanks for the advice.

  • I have sold several cards through the boards here. I just have people pm me and we work out deals. I then have them send the money to me via paypal gift and the rest is history. I have an ebay store that I sell my PSA graded cards on but ebay hits you with those fees when you sell your cards so I always create a sales thread here on the boards and offer them for sale here too. Sometimes it works out but sometimes it doesnt. I guess it just depends on what people's wants are at the time.

A fairly priced 'Buy-It-Now' card on eBay will always and I mean ALWAYS get my attention. I calculate the various eBay and PayPal fees to be about 12% of the cost of the typical card that I buy ($20 to $100 sale). I am happy to pay it. Time is money and I will pay $100 on eBay as opposed to $85 on a board, haggling back and forth, providing address, answering PayPal gift questions, etc. etc. The key is 'fairly priced'. Most people's cards do not sell because they are overpriced. If you bought a card for $10 three months ago, why would I want to pay $30 for it today? - Kevin M.
  • Most of the other sites just don't get enough traffic to sell cards. I usually try to sell them here or another board first, if there isn't much interest then I will toss them on ebay. I do try to price them cheaper than my ebay prices when I list them here. Even here though you don't get the views you do on ebay. I've been breaking a graded 60 set. some cards that I didn't get any bites on here at my price...but then marked them up 10% threw them on ebay and they were gone overnight. Sometimes ebay is just the best avenue even with the fees.
