Got an email saying that ebay is suspecting unusual selling activity on my account and now i cannot upload or revise any listings. Has anyone had this issue before?
Log into ebay and see if it is in "my messages", if it isn't you should change your password etc., in fact you should probably do it anyway, especially if ebay or you think your account could have been comrpomised
<< <i>yeah its from ebay. I has my actual name on the top of the email. Its asking to confirm some personal information and to call their customer support. >>
never believe emails and never click anything in them. go to the site. if its something that serious, you will see an obvious sign.
See if there are items in your sold history that you did not list. This happened to me about 5 years ago. Someone hacked my account, listed and sold about 10 exercise DVDs all buy-it-now, all in one night. Ebay informed me of it before I even noticed and that had it all cleared up within 24 hours. I'm still not sure how the scam works as you would think paypal would protect the buyers if the items were not sent by the hacker.
It's the Chinese. They find ebay accounts that have not had activity for 3 months or so, hack them, and market the products. So yes, you most likelty got hacked. I bought a teenage step daughter some fashionista glamour leather high quality brand name purse a couple years ago, because she said she would love me if I did, that is like 1400 bucks normally, for 60 bucks on ebay. I did actually get the thing and gave it to her. I scored HUGE with that, until the next day when the stupid witch had already forgot and got mad I would'nt buy her and friends pizza. The legit owner of the ebay account contacted me a couple weeks later and said .. WTF ? I explained the situaion to him.
I get an email last night after posting a bin listing which a prospective buyer made an offer on two of my cards which I accepted so I combined them in one bin listing which he quickly bought and paid for. The email from ebay(and also found in my messages was MC999 unusual activity action required please contact customer service to confirm some information.
so im wondering what information they need and how quick they can review my account so i can upload some listings?
they are cracking down hard on negotiating through their mail system. they probably think you were trying to avoid a fee with how you handled the transaction. i just got the exact same warning for a similar situation. clearly, they have started to read in system mail.

have you called their customer service to resolve the issue?
excellent conclusion on that Miniduff. thanks. (learned: i better not be dealing within ebay email, deals/offers outside of auctions, or any discussion of such) thanks again
Illiniafan912, why not give ebay customer service a call and explain what you did with your transaction. I'm sure they'll lift any limit they may have imposed on your acct. Since all you really did was combine two items into one lot and it sold on their sight. There shouldn't be any issues with that. They (ebay) are still getting their final value cut and probably paypal as well.
