1965 SMS Dime

I bought a couple SMS sets the other day to take the kennedies from for my album, and today I was looking at the other coins and I came across this dime and thought that it looked really good compared to most coins I see in SMS sets. I can't find a mark on it except some strange red spots on the edge. I have no idea what they are. Toning maybe? What do you guys think it would grade as? Still a new guy here so be easy image Sorry about the bad pictures, my phone is the best camera I have.

from what i can tell SMS coins came mark-free and still have a hard time breaking 66. strike and i guess luster? seems to hold these back an unbelievable amount

i think they need to glow from within as if their center contains a radioactive material >< if a 66 or higher grade is sought

The red marks on the rim are probably just part of the copper core dragged towards one side by the blanking process, and then pushed inwards a bit by the upsetting process. I have seen it on other clad coins. No big deal.

For a couple years, I tried to make Pop 1 coins from SMS sets and failed. I like your dime, but, if you're like me, it will come back 66. Good luck and keep us informed.

From your picture, it appears you have a nasty mark on the coin below the ST of STATES and just to the left of the leaf.
