German States Proof Minor Newp

Just got this one in, an 1858 Proof Groschen from Oldenburg. These are all seemingly scarce but no actual mintages are known, estimates I have received form various experts usually range between 25 and 100 minted. I'll try to shoot some better pics of it tomorrow, although just a little dark the color is quite nice.

I think you might be high on the mintage of this one. I talked with several German dealers today and they said mintage of this area, Oldenburg, would have been on the high side the max of 25, but probably less. Prussia would have had the most, from 25 to 100, but this would have been after 1850. There still are no records of mintages of German State proofs during this time.

Thanks 3Mark, every time I get a chance I try to find more info on these, but no one seems to have found any sort of mintage records for them.

What does it grade? Is it a proof or a ms strike? In either case is it a 62?

It's graded PF63, what looks like hairlines on the reverse are on the slab.

I'm using a little Sony NEX C3, unfortunately the only macro lens is a 30mm so I am having some issues getting far enough away to be able to light them correctly.
