Should I crossover my Jordan Rookie??

I do realize this is a PSA board but was wanting some opinions on whether I should crossover my BGS 9 Jordan rookie to PSA slab. In no way am I thinking It would cross to a 10 but I am leaning toward wanting it in a PSA holder. Thanks for your thoughts!!

With that top left corner it may come back a PSA 8.5

Yes. Specific min grade if you want.

  • Good Idea David. Corners are not bad at all. I am more concerned about the surface.

Is that white spot to the left of the "M" in "Michael" on the card or is it from the scan?

What surface issues does this card have? Scan aren't good for judging this sort of thing.

No the 9.5 grades help this 9 out in my eyes
  • there is no reason for PSA not to put that nice Jordan in a 9 holder . I have seen PSA grade some disgusting 9's of this card PSA should be proud to have that in a 9 holder

Yeah it will cross, but i like it better in the bgs case to be honest
  • Yes there is a spot near the "M". Also for some reason the card is not as bright on the front and the back has a brown tint to it. I will post a scan later of the back.

The card has nice eye appeal to me, again, card in hand may tell a different story. The centering is nice to my eyes, I could see this card in a PSA 9 holder.

That card is just fine where it is. Personally, I wouldn't go for a crossover.

Agreed with above. I've long preferred this card in a BGS holder when the centering grade is 9.5 or pristine 10. Beautiful card.

+1. I'd love to own that card.
  • Attached is a scan of the back of my BGS and a scan of my newly pulled jordan back. I am not sure if the difference in color is just due to age outside of the pack or what. Thoughts?

I think it would cross but I would keep it in the BGS slab due to strong subs.

I have found that surface is usually the toughest grade when I used to send to Beckett. I think it should crossover, but honestly, unless you are looking to sell, it looks good where it is now

From the front, I actually wondered why Beckett didn't give the corners a 9.5...and I assumed that the cards only "real" flaw was the printing dot at the bottom and possibly other minor surface issues I hadn't noticed. But, from the back scan (of the top picture), it appears the corner issues are top right and bottom right (when looking at the front) and not bottom left, as someone suggested earlier. I think the corners, when viewed from the back, may keep this out of a PSA 9. I also noticed the minor discoloration on the reverse (mostly at the top).

Beautiful eye appeal and great centering. Anyone would love to own the card, but the corners appear overgraded from Beckett when you look at the reverse. If you do try to cross it to PSA, I'd specify 9 minimum or leave it in current case.
