Anyone here selling the PCGS 66 Franklins on TT this Sunday?
I was just looking at Teletrade's Sunday auction and saw a lot of dates in PCGS MS66FBL holders. Most of the coins are brilliant which is pretty damn rare in 66. These coins just have to be part of the same set. One could go weeks and weeks without seeing a single brilliant 66 on TT much less than the 15 or so up on Sunday. I've never really seen anything like it.

I agree that there are some great Franklins on Teletrade Sunday. I can also tell you that a number of the coins from that collection also went to the November Stacks/Bowers sale. When that catalog comes out later this month, you should see an exceedingly scarce 1952-D in PCGS-MS67FBL as well as a number of finest known PCGS "white" specimens for the date. One is a 1953-P in PCGS-MS66FBL that, as a recall, fetched a bundle in a Heritage sale a few years ago when it appeared last. There is also a wonderful pop 2/0 1963-D in PCGS-MS66+FBL in that sale as well.

I'll be following them for sure. BTW, nice handle, very appropriate.
Mitch, is the 52d brilliant? There aren't many MS67 white Franklins out there. I'd love to get a copy of that catalog.

The 54 P looks superb. Surprising it did not plus.
There are also a few I would be leery of...
<< <i>Certainly some rare ones there. 51-D 66FBL white is a rare bird!

I'm not loving the 51d. I really like the 51s and the 54 though.

I was looking for a 1958-P in PCGS MS66FBL brilliant white--was hoping these auctions would have one. No such luck!

Good luck with that. I'm still looking, after years and years, for white 1957 and 1958 65fbl Frankies. A 53 would be nice too. My current 53 just misses fbl but it's such a nice coin that I'm in no real hurry to upgrade.

I am not 100% sure, but I think that coin may be in the Nov, 2012 Stacks/Bowers sale.

Perusing past auction results, it looks like the last time one of these came up was in 2011 and sold for $500.
The example coming up at TT looks clearly superior than the 2011 example. It will be interesting to see if this one sells for more or less or maybe won't even sell if the same consignor of the OP coins has again placed unrealistically high reserves.
Or maybe it is not from the same collection? Anyway, will be interesting.
