Anyone here big in to Pop Out / 3D / Repoussé Coins?

Recently acquired a few and don't know a whole lot about them. I emailed the address to purchase the book, but have not been able to get a response.
Just kind of looking for some more info, and a value as to what the ones I picked up are worth.

I was just looking at a bunch of low-value coins I had in a box for quite awhile and one of them was a pop out Kennedy half. It got me interested enough to look for similar coins on Ebay. That's where I first saw the term "repousse". Some of the coins I saw were quite artfully done. Some, like my Kennedy are kinda disturbing.

The dies are still in dealer hands. I remember seeing Ike dollar and and Kennedy half pop-out coins.

I noticed my local coin guy has a barber quarter in his case , a 1907 as I recall. I looked it over its really well done he was asking $40 for it and it hasn't budged from his case in 6 months .

The coin looked AU ish I assumed it was probably done back when it was new.

Here is a photo of one I have. I'm not sure how I acquired it and I don't collect them or know much about them.

It would appear the process for making these was an adaptation of a process for embossing a high-relief design on leather.
