I need more than that right now. I'm one of the most mild mannered persons you could ever meet, but quite frankly, I'd like to thrash Josh Hamilton right now. I don't mind the rest of it, you win some and you lose some, but his play was inexcusable and his reaction was abhorrent

You might want to cut Josh a little slack. Despite the fact he said he just misplayed it, playing CF in Oakland during day games this time or year the sun is brutal. Basically the center fielder is looking directly into the sun the entire game and it is difficult for them even to pick up the ball off the bat. As gets later in the day it just gets worse.

Meanwhile we're so giddy in the Athletics Nation this might make up for the Kirk Gibson thing....almost.

that game was pretty fun to watch....i remember attending rock concerts at the Coliseum many years ago and those apesh!!t A's fans reminded me of the folks i used to tussle with in front of the stage.....it may have been some of the same people. image

lemme tell ya what i saw in the 9th when Balfour put on his show while Nellie Cruz shot him a dirty scowl on his way back to the dugout.

those A's better hope they don't get the mighty pissed off Tejanos in the ALCS.

    baseball never forgets.

Well, even though Texas is the favorite to win the WS (9/2) and the O's are the longest shot (18-1), I have to root for the O's on Friday. Texas has a huge advantage, but you never know in a 1 game series. (Since my daughter started attending Loyola University in Baltimore the O's and the Ravens have become my adopted teams.)

    Good Luck Mike!

Friday should be fun I hope, LOL. I can't wait for it to get here. With one win, the Rangers can do away with all the bad feelings I have right now toward a few of them. I fully EXPECT them to have no problem whatsoever with Baltimore, and that's probably not a good attitude to have. I hope the team takes the Birds more seriously then I do, but at this point, I'm so looking forward to battling the bastions of baseball, the mighty NY Yankees, that I'm really kind of glad the Rangers lost (as long as they win Friday) as now we don't catch Verlander twice in a five game short series. Plus, there will be no better joy for a Texas fan so far this season, then to dispatch of the mighty Yankees.

I sure hope they get the chance and don't flub up Friday. I'll be there with family in full force Friday night, hopefully we will get to celebrate as the Rangers didn't celebrate when they won the wild card too much

(I try to look on the bright side and if we lose, at least I've got a big refund coming from unused playoff tix to buy signed rookies with image. , it's all good)

It may not be "flubbing up" in case you didn't notice happy bird and the gang have 93 wins too, just because your at home doesn't mean the ole birds can't keep thiere magic going, plus if we have the lead after 7 its game over!...that being said i do recognize the rangers talent and hope its a good game, we'll just have to see which rookie pitcher Darvish or (potentially*) Steve Johnson cracks under the pressure! It's tough to question Buck on any decision he makes. Personally, I would've held onto Tillman for this game and pitched Saunders last game, but given the 3 homers Tillman gave up against the Rays maybe having him face the Beltre/Hamilton/Cruz/Andrus/Kinsler wouldn't have been the best move in the world. At least with Saunders we know he's not gonna get crushed, probably give up 3-4 runs in 7 innings. I think Buck is gambling that our bats can get to Darvish and that we can get 5+ runs. Putting up an untested Steve Johnson with a bad knee against the best lineup in baseball could've been disastrous move, so I can see why he's throwing Saunders up there.

So maybe Darvish cracks under the pressure and the veteran gets the job done. We'll see, should be a good game. I'm hoping for extra innings.

What a great day of anticipation today. I know at the end of the day, they are just baseball games that in the grand scheme of things, really don't "matter" at all unless you are in that industry, BUT, for SO MANY years down here, baseball games in September and October meant absolutely nothing. At least for the past couple years, games in September and October mean something for the Rangers' fans, and helps to engage one's mind away from the normal stresses of life at least temporarily. I know I personally hope they continue to play for at least a couple weeks, cause the distraction helps me from continually thinking about and wondering about how my law school application is going, and what decision the school is going to make on it. Much funner to think about baseball, and the upcoming pitching matchup, and why so and so isn't hitting well, etc. etc. etc. If they can make the World Series, that should last through my application decision time, so that would be ideal.

Go Rangers! Get 'er done this year.

Good luck O's fans, if y'all win, I'll be back to congratulate y'all mid morning.

Just got home from the debacle. First off, congrats to the Birds and their fans. Good luck the rest of the way. Go beat those villains from the Bronx for us. Y'all have some ex Rangers that were generally good citizens during their time here so I hope they do well.

As far as the Rangers, it's time to start the dismantling. 3 competitive years and they couldn't get it done. I hope they tear it down and start over. Our supposed superstar, Mr Hamilton, has performed dreadful for 3 straight playoff seasons. I wouldn't be dismayed if management has had enough of him and let's him go. Quite frankly, I would love for MLB to discover that he bet against the Rangers and was throwing games so he would be banned for life. That way, no other team would get his prodigious regular season talent. Other then 1 late inning World Series homer last year, he basically did nada when he should have been carrying the team. A myriad of supposed injuries, whimsical attitude, blaming coaches for his getting hurt, and his general diva attitude have gotten me to the point where it's time to say adios to him.

Turn out the lights, this party is over for this years edition of the Rangers. Good luck to every team still left other than the Yankees.

Sorry Mike. I was watching this game and thinking of you and the family sitting there watching it.

Spring training is about four months away!!!

Thanks. Tonight was bad BUT I've thoroughly enjoyed spending the season out there with my daughter and creating memories with her. That's what it's all about for me. I'll have to come up with a new past time to fill the void between now and next year. I hate the Cowboys and she doesn't like pro football so that won't work. The Mavs are a little pricey for good seats with my budget but I'm sure we'll make it to a handful. Maven has already asked if we could go go Spring Training next year so I'm considering doing that for her. I'm pretty sure there will eventually become a time where she thinks she's too old or too grown up to go to kids games with dad so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. image

The Rangers looked like a tired team that ran out of gas. Making three straight WS appearances is asking a lot and Hamilton has played his last game for them.

I was really surprised watching the game & the Rangers blow it. I thought for sure they were going back to the Series & then the last couple weeks happened. I was pulling for them too cause of Mike & the true fans out there that never saw a Championship & the heart ache they all must have felt after game 6 last year.
I can relate to painful Game 6's!

Was I the only one who noticed that it seemed Hamilton didn't care too much? Kind of reminded me of how Lebron acted in 2010.
No killer instinct, passion or leadership. The guy has a ton of talent but the way he has acted recently makes me not want to root for him as much.

Darvish was a beast last night! I actually watched the game at a bar with my best friend who happens to be a Rangers fan. I really liked that Rangers team, especially Hamilton. It's a real shame to see what happened to him and to see him get booed like that. I hope they at least keep Ron Washington, he's great.

Was happy to see my new "adopted team" (since my daughter started attending Loyola University in Baltimore I've been rooting for the O's and Ravens as well) win last night. I actually felt bad for Mike and Maven, since I know they are both die hard fans.

Despite the loss, Maven was up early this AM and wanted to make a Rangers themed Halloween costume, so we spent a couple hours making this together. She's a baseball card. I love that girl! image
