<< <i>Great looking card! I think it looks like a 5 or 5.5. But I'm going to guess a 2 with a small bit of paper loss on bottom left corner on the front. >>
Written almost word for word as to what I was thinking when I saw the card.
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Looks like from the scan a speck of paper might be missing under the A of mathewson. Tough to see but that will put in in the 2-3 range if it was pulled off the image.
Card does look like a 5 but it has flaws that will take it out of that grade.
.5 has nothing to do specifically with centering at all. In any card's case, a "4.5" grade means it's been deemed at a quality in between a "4" and a "5".

Perhaps. But I paid what I thought was a big premium ($1,500.00) for this same card in a PSA 7 back in Feb. 2000, and frankly it was not much nicer than this present day graded PSA 4 card.
I sorta wish I had hung on to that little piece of cardboard.

<< <i>4 bc it looks like i can see the dash - in the middle of the blue. >>
Agreed. Unless it is a trap.
I had a couple e97's with similar bottom left corners paper loss and they graded them as if the corner was missing
No matter what, I would be proud to have this card in my collection!
I hope I win the contest
<< <i> 4.5 all day long, and there's only 1 on the pop report
Quick hint: It's not a 4.5, for here is the pop 1 graded 4.5 = E95 Matty PSA 4.5

<< <i>OK ... enough guesses ... and the answer is??? >>
Here it is from a good old friend from back in the booming card show convention days. Thanks again Wayne!
