Coin Question

Is there a difference between a Carson City Morgan Dollar and a Regular Morgan Dollar? and if so what is it?
Maybe its a dumb question but I am new to the coin collecting world and want to learn as much as I can.
BTW this is just a question for my personal knowledge.
Thanks

There are different Mints and they all have their own characteristics (mint marks or lack thereof).
A Carson City coin will have the Mint Mark of CC. New Orleans dollars will have an O. San Francisco
dollars will have an S mint mark, and Philadelphia did not mint mark their dollars.

I don't know -- hopefully you could click on the link in your sig line, and ask someone you work with?

My question is geared towards an article I am writing on the subject and before I go around asking questions I rather hear it from different sources. I am not a dealer and the people I work with are very educated. However, they have work to do and don't have time to answer my silly questions.
Do not allow this question to be a reflection of the company.
Thanks

<< <i>Yes, there is a large difference. Go out and buy a Red Book of US Coins. Check out the dollars.

Then indeed, a redbook is your best bet for a foundation of knowledge regarding CC Morgans, and google is your friend as well.
