2012 Topps Heritage 1963 Buy back

Has anyone been collecting these? There is a Clemente being offered at $500 with best offer. Whats a good price on this? Whats reasonable for these cards as none of them are in mint condition. Most are about poor-VG. I see many that are miscut, off center, rounded corners, missing paper, etc.

Anyone see a Rose rookie?

Do these cards really sell for that much of a premium? Without the stamp, that's a $40 card at best.
  • I'm guessing with the stamp, they are a variant of sorts. I'm willing to trade for some if anyone has them.

I've got a few dupes if you want to trade, I'd trade them even up for any I don't have, which is most.

In regards to the Clemente I don't see the point of the premium on it. It's just a beater with a stamp on it, and in some cases they put the stamp right across the face of the player.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

True but it's not as painful when they ruin a VG Clemente card compared to when they saw up a vintage game used bat.

I only have 3 at the moment, so it would not be worth a trade unless there is something else you prefer.

Not sure how I feel about the stamps. Its a big stamp. I am sure they could have done something a little more elegant.

I never cared for the big cheesy stamp...wonder if a grading service would qualify the card, don't think I have seen a star, thought they were a myth.

It would be interesting to know which other ones are out there.. Mantle, Aaron, Mays etc.
  • I am looking for a #126 Uecker if anyone has one.

    Thanks

According to what I read, they have purchased an entire set. Cant imagine they only got a bunch of commons.

I made an offer for the Clemente and I was automatically declined at $75.00

    What does the 'buyback' mean?

Topps bought back original '63 cards, and then stamped them with a gold foil logo. Sometimes over the face of the player.
I"ve got about 50 or so, all beaters, they would all grade PSA 3 at best.

Just one set, so they are really all 1of 1s and there are only about 500 or so in circulation ?

Does that drive the price, you can compare a VG common or star to a VG with a gold stamp.......

The gold stamp makes it worth more........interesting.

unless the 63 set was different, they buy a lot more than 1 set - maybe 1 complete set and pant load of commons. I know I've pulled several of the same card in earlier years.

Best pull was a 61 Hank Aaron all star
  • Its minimally one set, but i have seen multiples of commons. They are in about 1 of 2 boxes of Topps Heritage as box toppers.

Just did a quick search on ebay and saw the ones with the stamp over their face......Why does anyone think that is OK.....It screams we don't give a $&*!

Love to see a Mays or Aaron like that.....It's like the card shop employee who could care less about cards....
