Couple of questions for pack collectors...

How long does it usually take to get a pack graded and returned to you from PSA?

I have a 1982 Topps Cello w/ Cal Ripken Jr showing on top....would you get this graded? or leave it as is? I plan on keeping it for a while and then selling it after I get tired of it. haha

Does having it graded really bring that much more money? Is it worth it?

Thanks for the info

    1. I'd say 45-60 days.
    2/3. Yes/No.
    4. It could, for a PSA 9 or 10.
    5. IMO, yes.

If your grading just this one pack. I say no.
You will have to pay to ship it to PSA.
You will have to pay what 14.00 to have it graded pluss another 14.00 to ship it back to you.
It will also take 2-3 months to get it back.
So it would cost about 35.00 min to have the one pack graded.
Raw they sell for about 50-100
So to me I think you are just tying up your money for a few months to get the same return.
If you had 15 or more packs it might be worth it.
  • I let my membership with PSA lapse....Do you have to be a member to submit packs?...I thought I have read here before that you don't need to have a membership for that service.

I would say that you would probably get your money back by having it graded. But unless you get a 10 which is unlikely I would not send in just a Ripken pack.
