New eBay policy impacting how "duplicate" coin auctions are listed (or not listed)

I just got the following email from eBay:
<< <i>
Dear {me},
We're writing to you because you have had duplicate Auction-style listings on eBay in the past. We are changing how these listings will appear on the site, and wanted to inform you that these changes could result in reduced visibility on the site.
Starting October 4, if you create or have duplicate Auction-style listings on the site, only one listing without bids will appear on the site at a time. Once that listing receives a bid or ends, the next listing for the same item will be eligible to appear. If a duplicate Auction-style listing expires before appearing, Insertion Fees and Feature Fees will be refunded, whenever applicable. If your duplicate Auction-style listings are not receiving bids, the duplicate listings could get as little as two hours of visibility on the site.
Get more information on eBay's Duplicate Listing policy.
As always, thank you for selling on eBay.
Sincerely,
The eBay Seller Team >>
I wonder how this will change auction prices for coins of a seller has multiple for sale but only 1 shows up at a time. I also wonder what constitutes a duplicate. Is it title & description, one or the other, or something else. Whatever it is, I'm not sure if I am a fan...

Sometimes added descritive terms like "Blast White" or "Toned" also keeps the fools at bay.
Maybe some .99 cent sales?
The name is LEE!

WOW! You just confirmed a rumor I put a lot of stock in! Ebay is systematically blocking out listings because they do not have the bandwitdth to deal with all the listings they have! I have seen it in my sales time and time again! I go awhile without selling anything...and then bam....several sales to people in the same state....or Bam...several sales out of the same category. I hope someone is able to find a way to prove this...as ebay will be subject to 1 heck of a class action lawsuit!

1. i've wondered about the MASSIVELY inconsistent sales/views in listings - i've also done at-length comparisons from the completed listings pages and over the past 6-12 months which shows extremely large variances in the ended listings reported for sold/non-sold items. quite concerning to me if they have the qualified technicians to run/troubleshoot their servers/software
2. wouldn't be the first and wouldn't be the last class action ebay has experienced
my faith in their service is starting to be devalued between the counterfeits and lack of exposure/cross promoting for potential buyers
.
I'll have 2 or 3 of the spouses up.
Serial Numbers are different.... that's about it.
The error I get on eBay "The feature you are trying to access is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
CONSPIRACY!!!!
<< <i>another note, last one... If a seller accepts an offer on an item, eBay appears to show it being sold at the listed price in the completed auction view, even if the actual price sold is less. This would inflate the perceived market value of all similar items. >>
While a search list of completed sales will incorrectly show item sold at asking price, the indidual listing for the item, when clicked on will show the actual accepted price.
From this completed item search list click on the first item sold to see actual accepted price. I'm with jesse, i like it better if the search list showed actual negotiated price. I use the completed item search often to determine what buyers are paying.
No Way Out: Stimulus and Money Printing Are the Only Path Left
I agree, a lot of 99¢ sold auctions. If an auction only gets 2 hrs exposure prior to expiration, after the previous listing recieves the first bid, then the sellers are really taking it up the rear.
with free auction style listings, it will reduce their listing count and "load."
fewer people will have multiples so they won't have .99 cent winners-losers.
<< <i>one reason, as with their single limit on identical buy it nows is to reduce the search clutter and to persuade sellers to list multiple inventory in a single listing. Unfortunately their requirement for photos of the actual coin and providing the cert number on graded coins makes a single listing of multiple coin items violate their coin policy. Maybe one of you top secret Ebay coin "consultants" can bring this to their attention.
