I'm also 31 and not born in this country and I would hardly call myself a music buff and even I'm fairly familiar with Elvis's work. One advantage this generation has is the availability of YouTube. For free you can watch videos and learn what he looks like and how he sounds when he's singing.

Too bad you didn't get to hear him live at the Hilton. Your blood would've boiled. I never bought a single record of his, but wouldn't think twice of tipping $200-300 way back then to get as close as possible to the stage. Friggin unbelievable...
