Have you heard of a "Liber7y" penny?

After looking through some pocket change, I noticed one of the pennies the cashier gave me a wheat penny. No big deal, we all come across those in pocket change. I looked at the date, saw "1944," but then looked at the "Liberty" print and noticed a misprint: the "T" was actually a "7."
Is this something legit, or do you reckon someone has played with the coin? Have you heard other instances where the "T" was a "7"?
I've included a pic to show what I mean:

EDIT: MrLee got it.
If you look close you'll see where something pushed the metal over but left it hinged in place.
Maybe from a coin counter or some other machine that scraped it.
