Today's mail - 1971 Topps Nolan Ryan

I think this card is really nice for a 6. Not sure why the image came out so light - the black looks much richer in person.

Top to bottom centering is a little off, other than that great card!

Great looking card. Has to be something with the surface. The corners and edges are really clean.

    Appreciate today-

Crack it out and resubmit. No reason it's not a 7. If I ran a carpet cleaning business like this....I'd be a millionaire.

Customer-"You didn't clean my carpet right...it's still dirty"
Business- The cleaning fee is $149 again

WOW! Presents so well for a "6". If you paid "6" money for that card you hit a Home Run. Enjoy.

I can't see any surface issues. I agree the centering isn't there, esp top to bottom. I pretty much paid 6 money for it: The seller had a BIN of around $100 or Best Offer on it. I looked at the completed Listings for PSA 6's and most were in the $50-60 range. This card looked really nice for a 6 and my offer of $58 was accepted.

When I got the card, the thought to resubmit for a 7 crossed my mind very quickly but I plan on keeping the card. With the old adage of 'buy the card, not the holder' in mind, I now have the card. It doesn't matter to me if a digit on the flip says 6 or 7. Of course, if I change my mind and decide to sell doen the road, I may consider trying to get the bump to a 7.

What is the mark on the bottom left corner that starts about 1/2" from the bottom and goes in an oval shape to about 1/2" along the bottom?
I'd be proud to own a 1970 Ryan PSA 6 that looked that good. image

Nice card! Do you think maybe it was a no qualifiers type submission? Maybe an 8oc that is a 6 because
