<< <i>You have a good one there!!! Looks like the S178 R5+
nailed it Mold!
nice variety you have there candy2012mustang.
not sure how bad that ding hurts that coin, but i'm sure there are a lot of people that would still like to have it
.
didn't mean to double post again.
LDS, Breen state IV
I would guess this coin could bring anywhere from $500-1,500.
Would anyone else would like to estimate a potential value for the sake of conversation?

VF and 2003 are not VG Major damage 2012
there are big variables and it could bring more than $1,500 but i doubt it.
i researched recent (past 3 years) major large cent auctions with great provenance and f+ examples scarcely broke $5k that didn't not have major damage
the reason the one in that old coin facts link probably showed such a high sale was 2 things. 1. the time period and 2. may have been close to a condition census, maybe #10 or something along
those lines, but i don't know as i didn't research the census grades.
i'm not knocking your coin at all because it is one tough cookie and with the surfaces it has if it had no damage would easily bring multiples of thousands.
i have yet to own such a rare early-date.
The attribution of S-178 is unmistakeable. The diagnostics are easy and obvious and moldnut and I are spot on.
Congratulations on a nice rare EAC

Does anybody know if PCGS attributes Sheldon numbers? I was thinking PCGS Secure Genuine w/ Sheldon Number.

To be honest, your wasting your money. The guys who will pay the dollars for this coin already know what it is.

i am not sure if secure plus does genuine. i'm thinking they don't.
but the regular service is quite cost effective for a rare coin like that :-)

the damage could appear worse from the lighting conditions from the images.
