Paypal/Ebay shipping question

I need to ship an ~$600 item and have a question:
I know that Paypal requires signature confirmation on anything $250 or greater. No problem. However, the post office told me that signatures are required on anything insured for $300 or more (or something like that). Would the signature from the insurance be enough for Paypal or do I need the signature confirmation as well?
