seriously though, why would the auction house even list something looking like that for sale. wow.

looks like a good candidate to be sent back to PCGS under the guarantee.

Would it pay to buy it cheap and then send it in for a grade review? Not sure what these are worth in MS66.

An average example is worth roughly $50. I'm not suggesting that someone buy it to make a few bucks under the guarantee. I'm suggesting when something like this comes in to Teletrade, they shouldn't even be listing it and they should encourage the owner to send it in under the guarantee.

Might be a good pickup for people who buy labels. Still, the PCGS Price Guide lists it at only $44.

TT sold one last month for 32 bucks.

12 (opening bid) + 8 (juice) + Shipping from TT + Shipping to PCGS isn't going to leave a whole lot of room.

Unfortunately, coins like this perpetuate the belief that TT is a bottom-feeder.

Yeah, some coins are meant to remain unseen.

Simple fact is there are in house PCGS graders at Teletrade this kind of sloppy handling could and should be taken care of without us seeing it. Simply put Teletrade customer service on something like this falling g down. By customer in this case I mean the consignee.

Is there any chance this is something between the coin and the slab? Who in the heck would take a picture of this and place it in an auction if this is on the coin? The guy should be looking for another jobimage

My thoughts exactly. Steel cents are very susceptible to environmental factors.

I'm surprised it graded cleanly, and with a "superb gem" grade nonetheless.
