Slightly OT - Is there a fee to send money by PayPal gift?

I thought there was but the PP site says "It's free to send money in the U.S. to friends and family when you use your PayPal balance or bank account"

If you fund the gift with a credit card there is a fee. You can pay it or it can come out of the gift payment.

But if you use your PP account balance or your bank account there is NO FEE to SEND no matter what option you choose. However, using GIFT will allow the recipient to receive the money without a fee as well.

OK - I get it now. I think the only time I did it, I used a credit card and was charged. Thanks.
