A few large cent newps

1839 is one of my favorite years because of the all design changes and varieties of that year.

Now, how about that head of '40? And a 39/6? Mine don't measure up.

Nice overdate there Lance. I've been waiting to find one in a high grade but I'm pretty sure that ain't gonna happen.
I've read that the terms "Silly Head and Booby Head" date back to the 1860's.

My initial foray into copper was assembling the major transition varieties from 1835 to 1843, and 1839 is my favorite date as well.
The last coin acquired, as expected, was the 39/6, a respectable (commercial) VF20 from an old collection that I got first shot at.
I've seen some nicer VF30 coins at large shows, but at nearly 4X what I paid for my VF20, I need to stay happy with what I have.
Lance, that Head of '40 looks familiar
