. i'm not so sure about this one. the seller has sold some other CC morgans and they are imaged just as poorly as the 78-cc making a more challenging authentication imo
The rim is the dead give away and I'm surprised the seller would allow it to be viewed, that is, if they are aware it's a fake. I came across a '93 CC with the exact same kind of rim recently, it was fake. Plus the thickness of the coin was off.
To forgive is to free a prisoner, and to discover that prisoner was you.
The pictures are not the best, but I believe the coin is genuine. The problem is, the seller in error created the listing with a picture of the obverse of one coin, combined with a picture of the reverse of a different coin. Realizing that, they cancelled the listing and restarted it with the proper reverse picture.
But, there is a new mystery - the reverse side of the coin in the first (now cancelled) auction has a reverse of 1879, combined with a small CC (which was only used in 1878). That is the coin that I would like to see up-close.

I think that 1880 had a reverse of '79 with small CC's.
