<< <i>Not a coin you want to buy raw. Need to get a close-up of the mint mark and see if it has the die chip. >>
i've since learned the in the past couple weeks that the die chip in the bottom of the upper loop is not the only chip, much to my surprise.
i've seen one that is half-way up inside the upper loop, not mistakable for the other one.
and also there are 2 other supposed obverse dies used. i'm still working on the images for all 4 reported obverse dies.
too many things on my plate recently with only me to do it all, yay
i think the 09-s and 09-s vdb may share an obverse die since i think i recall seeing an 09-s with that same chip you refer to in the bottom part of the upper loop of the S .

doesn't look right to me either, but i can't fault the diagnostics by sight
i'll have to pull up some high res images for comparison

In most of the pics it looks cleaned.
I don't like the description "Stunning Detail" because a problem coin can have good details.
And it says: Circulated/Uncirculated: Uncirculated
And it's not uncirculated.
For whatever it probably sells for someone could get a better coin in a slab from a top TPG and be better off.
