After selling my 1952 Superbird w/ Hand Engraved Tail Feathers...

Soon after selling my 1952 Superbird w/ Hand Engraved Tail Feathers I started feeling a little sellers remorse.
As most of you know, I picked it off eBay raw for $25, had it graded and flipped it on eBay for a pile of cash.
So today I pulled the trigger on another PCGS PR65 (same grade as I sold).

Here's a
LINK to the one I bought today (top), and the one I sold (bottom).
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

You were feeling sellers remorse????? Imagine how I felt when I sold that PR65 that you just bought as part of an entire 1952 proof set in rattler holders for only a fraction of that price!!!! image

Nah, not really image I knew it was the FS-902 when it sold the set, though admittedly didn't know how much they could command on the open market once attributted. I made a decent return on the set since the seller didn't even know it had the Superbird quarter and that was good enough for me. I also know I sold it to a good guy and the coin has now ended up with another good guy.

Of course, recently cherrypicking another FS-902 that just graded PR67 helped to ease the pain of letting that PR65 go image

Looks like you replaced it with a nice coin in the same grade and $3750 left over to cure the sellers remorse image

    I'd be happy with that!

Well as the Seller I truly appreciate it> image And thanks to Mike for letting me have the coin in the first place, as it did come in a great rattler set. Still think the coin should have upgraded as it is a beautiful coin in hand. Congrats on your purchase and taking over 7th place in the registry, this is gonna be a fun race. And as far as seller remorse you know I still feel that way about the 1953 even tho it did pay my house taxes, I have not seen another example. Search on my friends.............Enjoy tom

you are correct. unless we click and look at the full listing page, any other page i am aware of just shows the listed BIN ask price (in green, making it look like that was the price it sold for), but does

not show the actual accepted obo price there are instances where coincidentally the accepted price matches the BIN ask price even with the obo option, but only represents a small portion of BIN

with obo option, for common sense reasons and for those of you that don't think creatively, you ask, why would someone not even attempt to make an offer on certain listings, and the answer is

this, it is usually a good deal and you do not want to find yourself missing a really good deal over a few bucks when someone else can just go ahead and click BIN while you are tinkering around.

there are other examples, but the point is made.

I think these are going to go down in value pretty quickly, similar to what the "regular" superbirds did back in the day. I've seen three of these hand engraved pieces (unattributed) since you first posted on this topic, UtahCoin. We sold a PR65 the other week for well under $1000.
