Mantle & Clemente card opinions appreciated.

These scans were sent from a local seller I have had a couple transactions with before ( vintage lots ) with no issues.
Both look a little wavy ( T - B )to me as if some trimming has been done. Have not seen in person yet.
Any opinions are appreciated if anyone sees this, or any other red flags challenging authenticity.
Thanks for reading,
Brian....

I see what you are saying along the tops of each card. The Mantle especially is noticeable. Could just be the picture though.

    Appreciate today-

If you looked at each one separately I would lean to trimmed. HOWEVER, look at them both and the wavy areas of the card look to be in the same place on each card. For that reason I am going to say its the picture and not the actual card. If it's a local seller just go with another card and measure them up.

Those are scans and not photos? Man, tell that dealer to splurge for $75.00 and get a good scanner.

  • They both appear to be obviously trimmed- particularly on the bottom edge- from that picture. I also think the borders on the Mantle look a little thin L-R.
But dboneesq makes a good observation. You'll have to see them in hand to tell for sure. Tread carefully.

From a pic, they look trimmed. Even if they aren't, take a look at the holder from the back. They are in screw downs made for smaller cards, with cutouts, and have likely been creased by the pressure and smaller edge.

Ive had scans cause that before. Have him scan it with the lid open and then with the lid closed. If he can as well scan them out of the screw downs that would be even better. I think it might be the scan as well
  • Its hard to say. It looks like the cards are in those really thick cases which could distort the image, the same as a magnifying glass might, which, might be as someone said they are wavy in the same place. I am not knowledgeable enough to say its trimmed, but I would see if they would scan directly to the card or somewhere closer to the image.
