The Pending Stack, The Hold Pile, The Why Should I Corner Closet Cards

Hello. I'm sure most all here have a 'pending stack'. You know, the cards which either ain't worth anything, or lower grade vintage, that you just can't commit to spending the 5 bucks to get them graded. What I have in front of me is: The Pending Stack. HOF'ers etc, inserts, just cool cards, that are, while checking ebay, not worth more than a few bucks a piece. Yet, they remained in the stack to send in for grading one day.

Just refinanced,. Went from the evil 5.7 down to 3.2 and knocked off 9 years of the mortgage with a 15 year fixed. But that is not the best thing about this. We paid a mortgage payment while this was all in play. There was also escrow overage after the finalization of the refi. Glorious ! The return was just deposited back in the account, a mortgage payment and all escrow.

So the deal was (wife doesn't 'know' finances here) She suddenly is surprised with getting to blow 5 bills on however she wants !!! and, I, get to send in 'the pending stack'. No, she has no concept or understanding of this stuff we talk about, she calls them Tonka Toys .. ( I just let it go, and it is actually HOT, swiss chick whose lived here 15 years she says TONKA TOYS when I'm messin with cards and no, not claiming model stuff)

So, have sent in 80 cards, all worth less than a buck according to ebay current auctions . Wil await the glorious enjoyment upon their return,

Examples: 1993 frank thomas 'serious' card. pete rose 1987 donruss, randy johnson 1995 upper deck something insert care. etc.

I bet those 'vintage' collectors here have the pending stacks also.

I think everyone on this board has a few stacks that are pending.

    I know I do.

Good luck with your sub and nice move getting the mortgage refinanced.

  • all or anyone.. it's not advertised.. but if you have a mortgage and it is over 4 percent now. yes. you are qualified for refi inder this 'HARP 2 program'. I could not believe it. I am under on the house rouglhly 45k on market value.. HARP 2.0 has the disclaimer 'it does not matter' If you think you have a mortgage loan with a local bank, I can pretty much guarantee you that mortgage has been sold, without you even knowing about, and I double bet, it's under a fannie phhhag or ferdie mac ownership. RIGHT THERE, you can refi now for 3.2. All you have to do is call your bank, and mention 'I'd like to check in to the HARP2.0 program' and from there, you should have it made. Good luck brothers.

Wish I knew that before selling and losing a bundle.

Going to jump off a bridge now.

    Cheers.
  • HankAint, I would have given you 2.75% on a 15-year, if you live in Michigan. I'm a mortgage broker which is the way to go, stay clear of the banks...

  • I recently got back a "stack" I had on the side. A 1969 Topps Deckle Edge set. Most were mid grade, and I have always wanted a full graded set of cards that I submitted all of...it was an easy choice. They don't go for much over grading fees, but I did manage one PSA 8 out of it, and for deckles that's a bit of a feat!
