<< <i>I exhibited a number of half dime exonumia pieces at a coin show this past weekend in Manchester, NH. Among the most popular items in my exhibit was a piece of nineteenth century blown glass with an encapsulated 1840-O No Drapery V4 half dime, which can be seen here. The exhibit also included a piece of original coin glass with half dime images, a letter opener with a half dime encapsulated in the handle, and many pieces of half dime ephemera. Sorry, no pictures. >>
MrHalfDime, What a neat-o slabbed 1840-O!

Yes, I believe it is the original slab.

Funny you should ask today of all days and cite something Australian. I just got the most unusual
piece of exonumia in my entire life and it's Australian. I used to go into coin shops and ask to look at
the bucket where they tossed the unidentifiable items and then buy the whole bucket so I know un-
usual and this is it!
I was going through my old empty mint and proof set packaging and throwing most of it away. One
item caught my attention as it was about ready to go into the garbage. It was a 1989 Australian proof
set holder for the 5 pc gold proof set. There was a large bronze looking plaque embedded in it as well
as a gold foil mint token for the Perth mint. You can't imagine my surprise when I started digging the
foil out of the wooden case and it turned out to be a thick medallion or my surprise when it turned out
to be solid gold!
It's a nice looking token (more like a medal in this case) and 9K gold.
It's pictured at the bottom of this page;
Gold!
<< <i>Still wearing this daily. A customer actually thought it was a wedding band.
It's cool that you wear it.
A couple that wears a pair of those as wedding bands would be something!

I love love tokens, as many of you know.
This is just a sampling from my date set.
This is a piece I sold to savoyspecial once. It just came back to me. Though I do not know what the host coin was, I'll likely hang it on my Holey Coin Vest. I like it.
not unusual but its my coolest exonumy
Who is the cartoon character on that IHC? Looks familiar.
I like the Barber dime, too.

'Tis Mutt, of Mutt and Jeff. The engraved date is happens to be the 26th birthday of the strip's creator, Bud Fisher. Dunno if that has any significance.
Bud Fisher was based in San Francisco, so it seems likely that this is an S-Mint piece... not that that's provable any more!

You mean barbered dime!
