Is a 1987 Topps Tiffiany BB set worth much?

I was looking in my parent's basement (cedar closet) and came across the purple boxed set...

    maybe $20
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Underrated set in my opinion. I think Topps Tiffany is the way to go if you collect baseball from the 80's. Especially if they've been kept in a cedar closet.

what does a cedar closet add to the equation??? less moisture to cards? no sunlight???

It makes your collection smell great! Scent is a new PSA grading criteria. I feel sorry for those collectors who smoke.

Ya, and aromatic cedar is a natural bug repellant. That's what the old hope chest's were made out of, aromatic cedar. This would keep all those quilts fresh and bug free while they found their future husband.

All kidding aside, I do think the Topps Tiffany sets from the 80's are great, collectible sets - that have investment potential. Just my opinion.

The sealed sets are worth much more than unsealed judging by ebay results.

The unsealed vary quite a bit from $20-$60 each from what Ive seen
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Does anyone know the print run on the 1991 Tiffany set? Is it really that much rarer than the others?

There is a thread here somewhere from 2011 with estimated print runs for the Tiffany sets. I think it estimated 1991 as 2500 or less, and the next lowest run was for 5,000. Not sure if the info was accurate, most seemed to have come from SCD. I have all the Tiffany sets and traded sets, and do believe 1991 is tougher than other years
