Why would anyone want this?

A fake Mike Schmidt Autograph on a custom prototype?
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Two bids already. Only in America image

  • my concern is that in 10 years... how will anyone know that this is not real?
there's no image of the back of the card... for all we know there's no printed notice indicating that is a "custom" or a "counterfeit" or a "copy"
or that the autograph is a "forgery"....

this will appear on ebay one day and some schmidt fan will question the autograph when it sells like a legit card...

"custom" cards should be banned from ebay because while the first buyer knows what he's getting... will the third or the fourth or the fifth be as lucky?

Isn't this guy breaking copyright and trademark laws by making his own cards and selling them?

  • having dealt with MLB in the not too distant past... i can safely say that they would not be pleased with the use of Phillies logos, etc...
and, Mike Schmidt, as a retired player, would have to separately license the use of his likeness....

    neither would be inexpensive....
