miss you all

had to vacate vegas for a little while as my baby girl needs her daddy to help get her head out of her butt with drinking and drugs
i celebrated 15 years in A.A. myself due to her asking me to quit drinking for her when she was 8
as much as the daddy in me couldn't refuse
with some help from my friends...maybe this will be a brief lil episode in her life
tough stuff to go through with 12 steps out if she puts her heart into it

so yeah most my coins are sold again or "are to be" in name of helping my kids

anyway...miss you all

with any luck my girl will be a fine addition to that huge family of 12 step celebrants too...image

    Good luck! I quit several years ago and smoking to.Drinking destroyed my first wife, its a dead end road.Hope she can put it behind her.

    There's no substitute to family. Support is the best medicine at this point.

    as a 12 stepper you know what it will take. It will be tough, no pun/joke intended. If you feel the need to re-group, pop by.


    On VH1, there is a new season of "Rehab with Dr Drew" with the worst junkies and alcoholics yet. (The past seasons were Celebrity Rehab.... not this season.) Maybe watching them go through the same thing will spark something in her mind and help the change.

    Good on you, Teddy. One day at a time, man.

    Both my parents went through the 12 Steps and have been sober for years.

    Me, I've never touched the stuff, in all of my 47 years, believe it or not. I'm as teetotal a teetotaller as you'll ever see.

    I quit smoking 15 years ago, my only addiction, and it was hard as heck, still have the urges
    to light up. I can only imagine that the two, alcohol and cigarettes, have the same stopping
    problems.

    The Doctor made me quit drinking a couple months ago, and that was no problem even though
    I drank everyday before and with dinner. I guess drinking and heart failure don't go together.
    I don't see the correlation but he said to stop. I don't miss that at all. It was strictly a social
    thing my folks, my wife's folks, and then we did. Glad I never got hooked on it!

    Family is sooo important and you are obviously doing the correct thing. If I can help just give
    me a holler!

    Glad you answered the pm and to know that your ok and just away for alittle while. Good luck with the daughter, as we have all fallen down sometime during our lives and its good to be there to help. I too have missed your post and I still take the Las Vegas chance on the smallest pictures on ebay, its cheap and fun............Take care of yourself and the family...........image

    I'm sorry to hear that, but I am glad (for you and your family) that you have your head on right and things correctly prioritized. It is never easy, and you have been a father longer than I have but I have already learned that type of responsibility, so I am heartened to hear that you are being there as solid support!
