Please Help 49 50 51 Bowman 49 leaf

Need some expert advise here! I picked up about 400 cards, 1949-50-51 Bowman and 1949 Leaf, problem is they are glued on an old type of constuction paper, since 1949. I have took a couple off and you can see what they are looking like. Leave them as is, take them off, value, use a soulation to try to remove glue, what the heck do I do? Thanks Troy. Alright a little more help, never posted a pic on here be for, I have scans brought to the gray upload box, but cant get them to this post.

I don't know if this is much help or not, but about 15 years ago a friend of mine bought a large group of 1948 or 1949 Leafs, 1952-53 Topps, and 1953 Bowmans that were the same way (glued to construction paper). He eventually shipped them off to a chemist, I think, who removed the cards from the paper and any glue residue. The cards were otherwise NM or better. He did real well in selling them to dealers. I think it was fairly expensive to get it done, and he did only the stars.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

  • Re: Judgebuck's post: there is a guy who does this very well. Name is Dick Towle. I think his operation is called, "Gone With the Stain." Maybe google his name for more info. Probably won't be cheap, but it can be done.
