Looking for El Cazador info

I've been looking at some NGC El Cazador shipwreck 8 reales on ebay. Prices seem to be all over the board, from around $100 to over $400.

What determines the value of these? Why would one be worth that much more than another?
Let's try not to get upset.

  • Condition, for one thing. Some are more (or less) corroded than others.

There are indeed a lot of them out there, and some are pretty rough. Sea-salvaged pieces probably run a wide gamut of conditions, so I'm not surprised that prices would also vary widely.

I had a stack of 10 of these at one point only one or two that I liked, those two auctioned for twice what the others did.
